The running roll is linked, via the intermittent rotation mechanism, to the drive furnished with an rpm regulator and a cam to turn for adjustment purposes. It also has heating elements with heating power controllers. The hobs, spring-loaded towards the cam, are arranged in the matrices in contact with the cam.
