SUBSTANCE: zipper mechanism can be used in light industry and is intended for zipper attachment to garments. Zipper contains carrier ribbons each of which is provided with some attachment elements fixed along lateral face and interlocked with slider movable along carrier ribbons. Each carrier ribbon is made of two strips, and lateral face of carrier ribbon not containing attachment elements has open shed paths formed by strips overlapping and fixing on one side of carrier ribbon along full length of overlapped side edges. These paths are fixed with attachment elements. Another version of zipper implies that each carrier ribbon is made of two strips and lateral face of carrier ribbon not containing attachment elements has two open shed paths. These paths are fixed with attachment elements each of which contains flanged foot for carrier ribbon arrangement between strips. Strips are attached to this foot by welded junction or glue bond. Carrier ribbons made of either synthetic or natural, or composed fibres are woven or knitted or made of either nonwoven, or filmed, or silicone materials, or laces Attachment elements are continuous or alternating links.
