ZIPPER FASTENER ATTACHMENT METHOD AND ZIPPER FASTENER Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

Abstract RU 2149575 C1

FIELD: sewing industry, leather-shoe industry, production of sportive outfit. SUBSTANCE: method involves connecting two wedge-shaped link members, each fixed with its wider part to working edge of respective carrier tape, by moving slide along these link members so that each link of one link member is positioned in space between links of other link member. At the initial stage of coupling operation, link members of opposite carrier tapes are positioned one above the other, with front and rear portions of opposite link members being offset one relative to the other. Opposite link members are coupled by transferring links to single level and bringing them into engagement with their rear parts by providing sequential mutual reverse motion of link members. Guiding members of zipper fastener slide are positioned adjacent to slide outlet opening at an angle to zipper fastener axis and adapted for engaging/disengaging link members. Beveled side surfaces of link members are adapted for mutual engagement with adjacent link members of other carrier tape. Devices for retaining link members of one carrier tape with respect to link members of other carrier tape are formed as projections positioned at one side of narrower parts of link members, and slots for receiving these projections. Slots are cut in wider parts of link members. Such construction provides tight connection of link members, which cannot be disintegrated in case of breakage, as well as in case of successive tearing of connection at side adjacent to slide due to overloading. EFFECT: increased efficiency by easy engagement and disengagement operations, and increased strength and tightness of zipper fastener. 9 cl, 24 dwg
