FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used for welding of items with closed internal volume, also in sealing of nuclear reactor core items, both under ordinary and remote conditions. Welding is performed in several stages in protective gas. After the first stage gas pressure is increased and at least one further stage is executed. Welded joint metal of the previous stage is melted in the volume that corresponds depth of formed defect location, but not more than by 98%. As protective gas mostly inertial gases are used, carbonic gas.
EFFECT: higher quality and serviceability of welded joints of items with closed internal volume by means of their continuity improvement.
