FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention implies a method of solid ballistite propellant blank manufacture and device to implement it. The method includes installing upper and lower obturating rings into hydraulic press barrel, loading of solid ballistite propellant into unit barrel, creation of pressure in the barrel using rod head and upper obturating ring, and, lastly, extrusion of propellant blank through shape-generation tool, resulting in obtaining a blank. A bore is made in the lower butt end of rod head. Rod head and upper obturating head are interconnected using bayonet coupling. Propellant extrusion is made until rod head reaches lowest limit position. Then, the rod and upper obturating ring are lifted to upper position in order to load another portion of solid ballistite propellant to the barrel.
EFFECT: performance boost; improvement of charge manufacturing safety and propellant loss decrease.
