FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: method of converting the control electric signal into mechanical force driving the fluid-operated actuator piston translating inside a hydraulic cylinder consists in that the fluid pressure to act on the said piston is generated by, at least, one piezoelectric element. The proposed device consists of a hydraulic cylinder accommodating a translating piston and a piezoelectric element fitted inside the aforesaid cylinder and separated from the said piston by a fixed partition.
EFFECT: higher performances, lower weight, reduced amount of moving parts, higher operating forces and accurate positioning with simpler drive control circuit.
