FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: proposed braking system incorporates beam coupled with rail web in contact with wheel pair first wheel and brake shoe arranged under the second wheel. Piece coupled with the plate attached to the tie is arranged in the rail gullet on the brake shoe side. Section plate in contact with the wheel flange rests upon the aforesaid piece. The said plate lower level is located below the wheel flange radial surface, while its upper level is located above the said flange radial surface. The plate surface, on the side of the rail head side surface, is furnished with a groove arranged over the said surface entire length. The wheel pair comes in contact, first, with the brake shoe, then with the plate and, finally, with the section plate. Here note that the gap between the beam and the rail is selected subject to the condition L-Δ=α>y=δ+x, where Δ is the groove width, L is the section plate width, α is the section plate working surface width, y is the gap between the rail head and the beam, δ is the gap between the wheel and the beam, x is the web thickness.
EFFECT: ruling out formation of surface irregularities.
