FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: pressure waves characteristic of destructive tsunamis are recorded, and warning data is transmitted. The data are transmitted after automatic disconnection of the wireless transmitter unit from the seafloor station at the onset of oscillations, characteristic of destructive tsunamis, and its ascending onto the water surface. The system for implementing the method is made in form of a seafloor station, consisting of mechanically connected unit for registering pressure oscillations, and the wireless transmitter unit. The unit for registering pressure oscillations operates in the standby mode, reacting on oscillations characteristic of destructive tsunamis. The wireless transmitter unit is made in such a way that it can be detached from the seafloor station.

EFFECT: simplification of the method and registration system.
