FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in the method, tsunami wave pressure is measured at the bottom at frequencies 0.003-0.01 Hz using bottom seismic detectors with 0.003-20 Hz wideband seismic channels; the picked up signals are transmitted over a hydroacoustic link to drift buoys placed at the investigated points, the picked up signals from which are transmitted over a satellite link to reference points; further, seismic noise is picked up at frequencies 0.008-20 Hz on the water-soil boundary, wherein odd harmonics 0.003 and 0.005 Hz are picked up from the spectrum of horizontal components, and even harmonics 0.002, 0.004, 0.006 and 0.008 Hz are picked up from the spectrum of vertical components, and the tidal level is measured at coastal seismic stations, in which, from known similar methods, the tidal level is further measured in the water body where seismic signal measuring apparatus are installed; tidal oscillation are analysed via Meyer discrete wavelet transform by filtering and analysing temporal equidistant rows of monitoring the sea level at coastal posts on the water body. From the obtained rows of observations, from all measuring apparatus on the open sea (ocean) and in the coastal area, synchronous observation intervals are selected, from which the type of tide is determined.
EFFECT: broader functional capabilities and higher accuracy of prediction.
