FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: shaft spillway contains intake mouth shown in the layout as regular polygon with the number of sides divisible to four, shaft of square cross section in the lower part, tail-water conduit with vertical side walls and integrated bend of rectangular cross section displaced between the above side walls. Side of the bend is situated from the side of the upper pool and provided with a section of circular and cylindrical form. Width of the bend is equal to the width of tail-water conduit. Four orthogonal by pairs sides situated near intake mouth are in parallel direction to longitudinal and transverse axis of tail-water conduit. Side of shaft square cross section is equal to tail water conduit width. Draining surface of shaft is made of cylindrical planes, whereof four with orthogonal by pairs sides being in parallel direction to longitudinal and transverse axis of tail-water conduit, which are shown as trapezium in the layout, whereas the others are shown as triangles. Intake mouth is implemented in the form of serial inter-related rectilinear segments with circular and cylindrical transverse cross sections. Sides of shaft are implemented in the shape of elliptical profile with guides contacting intake mouth surface in the upper part and with axes centre located in the plane of the lower cross section of square shaft. Shaft section located between the lower square cross section and inlet section of coupled bend is implemented as convergent channel owing to the side deflection of the upper pool in the lower rib of plane from the side of the lower pool. Initial section is implemented as a continuation of the corresponding plane of shaft near the plane of coupled bend. The final section is realised as a continuation of the lower plane of tail-water conduit.

EFFECT: simplification of formwork and reinforcement works while erecting shaft spillway.
