FIELD: hydraulic works. SUBSTANCE: when water level rises above normal key bed, water is discharged from the upper reach of shaft waterworks through drain funnel 1 into vertical shaft 4. Simultaneously, water flows through pipes into overflow head 2 positioned in the funnel and having the form of a hollow cone wherefrom it also overflows into vertical shaft 4. This flow of water through drain funnel 1 and overflow head 2 increases the spillway capacity at a minimum forced level of upper reach. EFFECT: improved design. 2 dwg
