FIELD: agricultural industry; mechanics.

SUBSTANCE: device used for cutting rolls consists of a vertical shaft and a roll-breaking link located thereunder. On the shaft walls there mounted are two cutting disks. Roll-breaking link is cone-shaped, and its top faces the shaft centre. The roll is supplied to the shaft by means of a conveyor with grabbing mechanisms. In the shaft the roll falling down freely is subject to a side undercut with cutting disks, and then it breaks when bumping against the cone-shaped link.
