FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: device for cutting rolls of stalk fodder is meant for preparing fodder rolls for feeding animals, mainly for use in pens on animal farms. The device has chain conveyors fitted head-on, on the chains of which flange catch-locks are cantilever fitted on hinges. Below the conveyors there is a cone-shaped roller-breaking unit. The roller is moved to the upper zone of the device using an inclined conveyor, and is thrown down. Upon colliding with the said cone-shaped unit, the roller breaks and the feed takes a crumbled form. Animals prefer crumbled feed to rolled-up feed. If the roll does not break up, it is held on the breaking unit and vertical conveyors are switched on. The flange catch-locks raise the said roll and, on the section where the flange catch-locks stop interacting with feeler units, racks take a position closer to the vertical. The roll falls down and the cycle is repeated.

EFFECT: proposed device provides for complete break up of rollers and obtaining crumbled feed from rolls of different density and moisture.
