DEVICE FOR MORTAR BED LAYING AND LEVELLING WHILE MASONING AND/OR FINISHING BRICK WALLS AND ITS APPLICATION MODE Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC E04G21/00 

FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the sphere of construction dealing with equipment and techniques employed for brick walls masoning and finishing and is to be employed during construction of civil-purpose and industrial facilities. The device for mortar bed laying and levelling during brick wall masoning/finishing consists of a body and a base. The body is represented by a rectangular-shaped trough with no less than three sideboards raised over the base (among them being at least one longitudinal sideboard and two lateral ones). At least one lateral sideboard has a recess on the underside with an off-centre rectangular hole (gradually evolving into a recess at least on one side) arranged all along the base. Under the base there are sleds (their spacing and height determining accordingly the mortar bed width and height) and at least one L-shaped support for maintenance of the preset spacing between the stretcher edge of the tier brick masonry and the mortar bed. There is also description of a particular technique of mortar bed laying and levelling with the help of the device under consideration.

EFFECT: device design simplification, minimisation of the device fabrication labour intensity, improvement of the quality of mortar bed laying and levelling during brick wall masoning/finishing, minimisation of labour intensity of the operations previously mentioned, reduction of mortar expenditures, prevention of finished masonry mortar-staining, increase of the stone mason's labour productivity, promotion of the stone mason's profession prestige as well as de-skilling effect.
