SMALL ARMS OPERATING MECHANISMS, METHOD AND DEVICE OF BOLT LOCKING WITH INTERMEDIATE STOPS, SHELL-PISTON METHOD AND DEVICE OF UNLOCKING BARREL, HINGED BREECH-BLOCK RECOILING MECHANISM Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC F41A3/00

Abstract RU 2346222 C2

FIELD: weaponry.

SUBSTANCE: set of inventions relates to weaponry, particularly to small arms automatic operating mechanisms. The proposed method of bolt locking in extreme forward position consists in arranging intermediate stops between the locking elements not intersecting during the breech-block stroke, the said intermediate stop cross-sections get intersected in pairs with the cross sections of the breech-block locking elements and those of the barrel box, thus locking the breech-block travel. The proposed device of small arms bolt locking mechanisms incorporating intermediate stops comprises the breech-block locking elements not intersecting with the barrel box locking elements, as well as intermediate stops to be fitted between the aforesaid locking elements and to lock the breech-block in its extreme forward position. The proposed shell-piston barrel unlocking method consists in shifting backward the piston linked up with a compensator spring and arranged aligned with the shell in the block, the said piston being shifted back together with the shell to compress the said compensator spring and to get the block locking mechanism linked up with the piston out of engagement with the barrel box locking elements. The shell-piston barrel unlocking mechanism comprises the piston arranged in the block aligned with the shell and linked up with the compensator spring and the mechanism for it to interact with the locking device and to shift the piston somewhat backward compressing the compensator spring and triggering off the locking device to unlock the barrel. The crank return mechanism incorporates a crank articulated with the block and the flat helical spring, the crank being designed to compress the spring during the breech-block back stroke and to get forced to extreme forward position by the expanding spring. The previously mentioned crank return mechanism comprises also a device designed to vary the crank operating length in the breech-block translation and a gear set made up of a worm and a worm wheel accommodating the flat helical spring end for the worm wheel to change the said spring compress-expand properties on being gearing over the aforesaid worm.

EFFECT: well-balanced small arms.
