FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ferrous metallurgy, particularly to compositions of steel which can be used for fabrication of machine parts operating under friction. Steel contains carbon, silicon, manganese, chromium, nickel, calcium, tungsten, aluminium, phosphorus, sodium, germanium and iron at the following ratio of components, wt %: carbon 0.55-0.65, silicon 0.8-1.2, manganese 1.8-2.2, chromium 2.5-3.5, nickel 0.3-0.5, calcium 0.05-0.1, tungsten 0.4-0.6, phosphorus 0.1-0.3, sodium 0.0001-0.0005, aluminium 0.1-0.2, germanium 0.01-0.03, iron-the rest.
EFFECT: upgrading of wear resistance of steel.
