SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metallurgy and can be used for fabricating of items for braking mechanisms. Steel contains, mass.%: carbon 0.3-0.5; silicon 1.5-2.0; manganese 6.0-8.0; phosphorus 0.05-0.01; chromium 16.0-20.0; sulphur 0.005-0.01; nickel 1.5-2.5; copper 1.0-1.5; nitrogen 0.15-0.3; boron 0.15-0.3; calcium 0.005-0.01; at least one element out of group - zirconium, vanadium, niobium 1.0-1.5; iron constitutes the remaining percentage.
EFFECT: upgraded wear resistance of steel.
