SUBSTANCE: inventions concern the methods for hardening and waterproofing of the paved surfaces such as road and parking pavements. Application of the asphalt cutback layer onto the surface; application of a hardening mat over the surface, wherein the hardening mat has the first layer containing a nonwoven mat made of a mix of mineral and polymer fibers and the second mineral fiber layer attached to the first layer, and the asphalt cutback penetrates the hardening mat and impregnates it to create a waterproofing barrier, and the hardening mat is porous enough to allow the asphalt cutback to penetrate and impregnate it and absorbs at least about 0.32 l/m2 of asphalt cutback; and application of the pavement material over the hardening mat. Additionally described are versions of pavement hardening and waterproofing methods, and also a method for repairing a pavement with extended crack.
