TRANSMISSION OF PILOT-SIGNAL AND ASSESSMENT OF CHANNEL FOR SYSTEMS WITH MULTIPLE INLETS AND SINGLE OUTLET (MISO) AND MULTIPLE INLETS AND MULTIPLE OUTLETS (MIMO) Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC H04B7/02

Abstract RU 2347315 C2

FIELD: physics, communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to wireless communication systems, in particular, to transmission of pilot-signal and assessment of channel in communication system with multiple antennas. Transmitter generates multiple composite pilot-signals. Every composite pilot-signal comprises multiple teaching pilot-signals, which are generated by means of multiple columns of teaching matrix and scaled by means of multiple amplification elements in column of amplification matrix. Transmitter transmits every composite pilot-signal by means of multiple transmission antennas. MISO-receiver receives accepted symbols for multiple composite pilot-signals and generates assessment of composite MISO-channel (multiple inlets and single outlet). For OFDM system MISO-receiver receives initial assessment of impulse response for every composite pilot-signal, filters initial assessments of impulse response for all composite pilot-signals and receives assessment of frequency response for composite MISO-channel. MIMO-receiver receives and processes received symbols for multiple composite pilot-signals on the basis of teaching matrix and amplification matrix, and generates assessments of channels for individual SISO-channels (single inlet and single outlet) between multiple transmitting antennas and multiple receiving antennas.

EFFECT: higher quality and efficiency of communication.
