FIELD: transport, ship building.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used on surface vessel as an active propulsion/steering unit. The ship steerer consists of a rudder blade, rudder stock and servo unit. The rudder blade is made up of two steel rectangular plates spaced a bit apart in vertical. Note that one ends of the said plates are rigidly attached to the rudder stock lower part arranged on the movable platform. The second ends of the said plates are jointed by a vertical port with a cable attached to its centre and arranged between the blade plates and passing through the rudder stock to the cable tensioning device. With the cable length decreasing, the blade plates get bent to the shape of circumference arc which, with the rudder stock vibrating in the 180 degrees sector, transforms into mirror image relative to the cable (chord). Note here that the smooth wavy vibrations change the plates bending to create repelling force similar to that of a fish tail.
EFFECT: higher turning ability due to traction force created by special-design rudder.
