FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to production of refractories and can be used for making stoppers for separating slag from metal when pouring melts from furnaces. The furnace charge contains cast-iron chippings, refractory clay, high-alumina slag, sulphite-alcohol solution and sillimanite, with the following ratio of components, in wt %: cast-iron chippings - 50.0-52.0; refractory clay - 10.5-13.0; high-alumina slag - 16.0-18.0; sulphite-alcohol solution - 5.0-5.5; sillimanite - 14.0-16.0.
EFFECT: increased strength of products.
