FIELD: mechanics; electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device consists of a welding head with a contactor tube and a guide roller travelling along the edges being welded. The roller holder is joined to the contactor tube. The welding head with the contactor tube and the holder with the guide roller are mounted so that to enable relocation across the welded joint. The axes of the guide roller holder and the contactor tube are positioned at an angle to each other. The guide roller is fabricated of a thermally resistant electrically non-conductive material. On the roller working surface there is a V-groove arranged with an angle of 45-90° whose depth exceeds the maximum arc depth value. The contactor tube and the guide roller holder are interconnected so that to enable their relocation relative to each other.
EFFECT: improved quality of the welded joint due to refined precision of the welding electrode orientation relative to the edges being welded combined with the welding process acceleration due to elimination of power arc capacity losses.
