Abstract RU 2089364 C1

FIELD: shipbuilding, oil and gas producing industries; hand, semiautomatic and automatic welding. SUBSTANCE: aluminium sheets. 3-m long, prepared for welding are put on stand providing wedge clearance in welded joint equal to O+1 mm in place where welding is started and equal to 2-4 mm at a distance of 1 m from place where automatic welding with nonconsumable electrode is started. Clearance is maintained symmetrical relative to axis of forming groove without electric tack welds. When sheets of length exceeding 3 m are assembled together, electric tack welds are used. Edges of sheets are tightly upset by stand beam with no displacement of edges relative to forming groove. Wire is fed uniformly. processing plates are installed at beginning and end of butt joint. Plate size is 100x100 mm at thickness equal to thickness of edges to be welded. Plate on which weld ends is welded to one of sheets. Starting plate is welded to both sheets by hand arc welding. In process of welding seam is watched and positions of torch and wire relative to axis of joint are adjusted in process of welding.
