FIELD: mechanics.

SUBSTANCE: all-purpose hydraulically-driven suspended tongs assembly consists of a housing with two swinging flaps, a rotary clamper (mounted inside the housing and composed of a rotor and jaws (the working one and the centring one) with dies), a brake mechanism, a distributive valve and a hydraulic motor. Between the jaws and the dies there are grooved adjustment strips inserted, the jaw pins interacting with the strip grooves. The pins and the grooves are mated in terms of size and spacing. The adjustment strips are locked in position with retaining elements.

EFFECT: improvement of the tongs unit performance properties combined with labour productivity increase.
