FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns application of polyethylene as material for sliding bearings of bridges, and material for application in sliding bearings. Invention claims use of polyethylene with ultra-high molecular weight as material for sliding bearings of bridges, where the indicated polyethylene is tested in disc form and shows friction coefficient matching EN 1337-2:2000 standard with at least 50% higher specific pressure, thrice longer sliding path and/or at least five times higher sliding speed, in comparison to polytetrafluoroethylene meeting European standard EN 1337- 2:2000. Also invention claims sliding bearing of bridges, using polyethylene with indicated characteristics as material of sliding bearings. In addition invention claims material in the form of sliding polyethylene disc with ultra-high molecular weight for application in the claimed sliding bearings, with surface area modified by silicon lubricant.
EFFECT: obtaining polyethylene with ultra-high molecular weight, extremely high melt viscosity, excellent fluidity and extremely high shear and wear durability.
