FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to film from ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene UHMWPE. Film has tensile strength, at least, 2.0 GPa, energy of tensile rupture, at least, 30 J/g, value of mean molecular weight Mw, at least, 500000 g/mol, Mw/Mn ratio not higher than 6 and film width, at least, 5 mm. Also described is method of obtaining film from ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene UHMWPE. Film is applied as initial material for ballistic devices, ropes, cables, meshes, tissues and protective devices.
EFFECT: obtaining polyethylene films with high energy of tensile rupture, high tensile strength and other desirable properties.
