SUBSTANCE: invention concerns computer equipment. Guidance profile boards are used for the description of functionality which can be shown by two or more types of devices or driving devices. Functionality which are usual for two or more types of devices, are featured by the same profile board of guidance. Some predetermined methods, structures, properties and-or events can be related to a concrete profile board of guidance. Devices which support a guidance profile board when they are requested, return the interface which features these methods, structures, properties and-or events. Guidance profile boards are mutually exclusive in functionality which they represent so they can be united arbitrarily for display of the full gang of functionality given by a concrete driving device.

EFFECT: provision of functionality of the user interface programmatically accessible to the application without knowledge of device type.
