FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: proposed multi-modal polyethylene composition has density 0.935 g/cm3 or more, and contains a mixture of a first polyethylene component and a second polyethylene component. The first polyethylene component contains bimodal polyethylene. The second polyethylene component contains uni-modal polyethylene, obtained in the presence of metallocene, which contains two cyclopentadienyl rings. This composition is characterised by a balanced TD/MD ratio. A film with 1.0 mm thickness, obtained from the multi-modal polyethylene composition has lower limit of Elmendorf tear strength TD of 100 g or more.
