POLYETHYLENE POLYMER COMPOSITIONS AND ARTICLES MADE THEREFROM Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC C08L23/08 C08K5/5317 C08J5/18 B29D7/01

Abstract RU 2835554 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to polymer compositions, such as polyethylene polymer compositions containing a branched alkylphosphonic acid salt, and articles, such as films, obtained by extrusion blown, made from such polymer compositions. Branched alkylphosphonic acid salt presumably acts as a nucleating agent for the polymer. Polymer composition for making thermoplastic articles contains (a) a polyethylene polymer composition having a melt relaxation index of 2 or more, wherein the melt relaxation index (MRI) is calculated by the following formula: , where MFI is the melt flow index of the polyethylene polymer composition in decigrams per minute, tan δ is the ratio of the shear mechanical loss modulus and shear accumulation modulus (G''/G') polyethylene polymer composition, tan δ0.1 rad/s is tan δ, measured at angular frequency of 0.1 rad/s, and tan δ10 rad/s is the tan δmeasured at angular frequency of 10 rad/s; and (b) a branched alkyl phosphonic acid salt, wherein the branched alkyl phosphonic acid salt contains one or more cations selected from the group consisting of the following: cations of group 1 elements, cations of group 2 elements and cations of group 12 elements, and branched alkyl phosphonic acid contains a branched alkyl group selected from a group consisting of the following: sec-butyl, isobutyl, tert-butyl, tert-pentyl, neopentyl, isopentyl, sec-pentyl, pentan-3-yl and 2-methylbutyl. Described also are polyethylene films having barrier properties with respect to water vapor and oxygen.

EFFECT: providing polyethylene polymer compositions having a desirable combination of physical characteristics, such as a high barrier to water vapor and/or oxygen, low turbidity, high transparency and/or high lustre.
