FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used while manufacturing of armour for protection of mechanised armour-bearing and armour-framed objects against influence of facilities affection - grenade debris, mine attack, bullets, shells and others. Alloy on the basis of aluminium contains total content of zinc and magnesium 6.4-7.4 wt % and ratio of zinc content to magnesium content 2.57-3.67, at following relation of components, wt %: zinc 4.9-5.5, magnesium 1.5-1.9, manganese 0.2-0.5, chrome 0.15-0.25, titanium 0.03-0.10, zirconium 0.07-0.12, copper 0.10-0.20, iron ≤0.35, silicon ≤0.25, admixtures ≤0.1, aluminium - the rest.
EFFECT: increasing of armour resistance, alloy corrosion cracking resistance, and its welded joints while running of armour in corrosive mediums.
