FIELD: mining, ecology.
SUBSTANCE: method consists in preparing base for dump, in transporting rock to storage site by trucks, in piling dump prone to self-ignition on prepared base, in successive rock compacting, in covering outer slopes with non-combustible material and in treating rock with water-high-ash sludge mixture. Also prone to self-ignition rock is preliminary mixed with high-ash moist sludge thus obtaining not prone to self-igniting rock mass out of which dump is formed.
EFFECT: reliable protection of dump from self-ignition, low costs and protection of environment.
