FIELD: mechanics, metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and is designed to be used to remove wall accretions from blow-off lances. Device incorporates wash-off ring with nozzles arranged on rotary arm bracket attached to column linked up with actuating mechanism allowing the arm bracket to turn through 270°. The said column with arm bracket is mounted to allow coaxial arrangement of the wash-off ring and lance above the converter mouth and under the gas discharge hood block. The wash-off ring represents an octagon of pipes housing two rows of oxygen feed nozzles. Note that the upper row of nozzles is arranged at 55 to 60° to the lance axis, while the lower row is mounted at 15 to 20° to the said axis. The arm bracket accommodates oxygen feed pipes, cooling water inlet and outlet pipes. The back side of the arm bracket has counter balance fixed thereto. The wash-off ring diameter is 3.5 to 4.0 times larger than the lance diameters. Each row of the wash-off ring incorporates 33 nozzles diameter 3 mm.
