FIELD: technological processes, metal working.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to metal forming, in particular to compositions and methods for production of dry process lubricant for cold drawing of wire, and may be used in ferrous metallurgy in hardware production. Lubricant contains the following components in wt %: aspiration dust of lime 18-22, kaolin 4-6, talc-magnesite 4-6, mill cinder 0.3-0.7, alkali metal soap - the rest. Lubricant is produced by mixing of the following components: alkali metal soap, aspiration dust of lime, kaolin, talc-magnesite, mill cinder with simultaneous thermal processing of mixture at the temperature of 170-180°C for 1.5-2.5 hr. Prior to mixing of components mill cinder is exposed to preliminary thermal processing at the temperature of 750-800°C and crushed down to fraction of not more than 400 mcm.
EFFECT: improvement of corrosion-inhibiting and antifriction properties, which makes it possible to reduce consumption of lubricant and to provide for stability of wire drawing process.
