METHOD FOR MAKING WIRE FROM HOT ROLLED BLANK Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: plastic metal working, possibly manufacture of wire of hot rolled rod at working its surface. SUBSTANCE: method for making wire comprises steps of preparing magnetic rolling scale used as lubricant at drawing; feeding magnetic rolling scale to soap holder of drawing bench; guiding hot rolled rod having surface scale layer in drawing bench; simultaneously creating magnetic field in deformation zone for providing envelope of particles of magnetic rolling scale and holding it on surface of rod before deformation zone. At drawing process surface scale of blank is broken in drawing die, disintegrated and mixed with magnetic rolling scale. Received homogeneous mixture is pressed in the form of cylindrical envelope around wire. In order to break and remove such envelope from wire surface, product is subjected to plastic deformation at tensioning and bending it.
