SUBSTANCE: method of and device for starting electrically driven pumps relates to operation of pumps. The proposed method of starting submerged electrically driven pump fed from the appropriate supply power source consists in the following. During starting, air is fed in the pump intake pipe. The device to embody the said method comprises the submerged pump and the appropriate supply power source. To feed air into the pump intake, a pipe is used with its lower end connected to the said intake pipe below water level, while its upper end is connected with the discharge pipe some 2 to 3 meters above the water level in the well.

EFFECT: starting submerged electrically driven pumps fed from the appropriate supply power source.
