FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power generation and is designed to use wind power for electric power generation. The proposed windmill comprises a vertical cylindrical hollow tower and air turbine with electric generator. The aforesaid tower accommodates vertical pipe to form a circular channel inside therein. The tower top accommodates an upper confuser-diffuser adapter self-oriented along the wind direction, its confuser part being communicated with the tower circular channel via its narrow cross section, while the diffuser part narrow cross section communicates with the vertical pipe. The tower bottom accommodates a lower confuser-diffuser adapter self-oriented along the wind direction, its confuser part narrow cross section communicating with the vertical pipe, while the diffuser part narrow cross section communicates with the tower circular channel. Note that the confuser and diffuser parts of the said confuser-diffuser adapter at the tower bottom are furnished the gate to periodically shut them off. Every narrow section has two bypass channels with the check valves, one of them communicates with the narrow section ahead of the gate and the other one with the said section aft of the gate. Bypass channels communicate with their separate buffer vessels connected by pipeline housing an air turbine.
EFFECT: expanded range of wind speeds used for power generation, lower sizes and weight.
