FIELD: tobacco industry.
SUBSTANCE: method of preparing tobacco for drying relates to the process of tobacco post-harvest treatment and may be used at tobacco producing facilities. Arranging freshly harvested tobacco leaves in cassettes and loading them into storage racks take place directly in the field. Then the storage racks are carried away from the field and placed under a shelter into a film barn with forced ventilation. They are held under natural conditions for 24-48 hours, then they are loaded into a drying chamber whereby the storage racks are used as storage units, transport and process containers all in one.
EFFECT: materials-handling mechanisation; improving working conditions; reducing tobacco losses; reducing consumption of process heat; increasing seasonal capacity of drying facilities.
