FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: strain "Ust-Tarka-38/2003" is the first representative of rickettsiaceae of genotype "Candidatus Rickettsia tarasevichiae". Basing on study of phenotypical and genotypical signs strain is related to order Rickettsiales phylum Rickettsiaceae genus Rickettsia of phenotype "Candidatus Rickettsia tarasevichiae". Strain of genotype "Candidatus Rickettsia tarasevichiae" "Ust-Tarka-38/2003" has been lodges under No141 in All-Russian Museum of Rickettsiaceae cultures at Gamaleya Research Institute for Epidemiology and Microbiology. Strain reacts with group-specific serums both to richettsiaceae of tick-born spotted fever and of epidemic typhus. Nucleotide sequence can be identified as genotype "Candidatus Rickettsia tarasevichiae" with 100% degree of homology with determined by us nucleotide sequence of strain "Ust-Tarka-38/2003".

EFFECT: strain can be used for rickettsiaceae identification and obtaining diagnostic antigenic preparations.
