FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to general mechanical engineering, particularly to sectional chains. The sectional leaf chain consists of internal and external leafs connected with cylinder stepped rollers. Also the stepped rollers project beyond boundaries of the internal and external leafs and interact with teeth of sprockets. The diametre of the middle portion of the stepped rollers is determined from expression 0.35·t<d<0.65·t, where d is the diametre of the middle portion of the cylinder stepped rollers contacting leafs in a joint; t is a nominal chain pitch. The diametre of the end portions of the said stepped rollers is bigger, than the diametre of external leaf eye openings and forms with the latter an interference fit; while the distance between axes of leaf eye openings is determined from equation Ln=t-d1+d, where Ln is distance between axes of leaf eye openings; d1 is diametre of the end portions of the cylinder stepped rollers projecting beyond boundaries of leafs and interacting with teeth of sprockets.
EFFECT: increased operation life of sectional leaf chain, facilitation of uniform distribution of pressure along length of rollers and decreased difference in pitch sizes of internal and external links.
