FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to electrical engineering and can be used in electric devices and installations, particularly in battery-powered devices, for example, in building equipment like an electronic gas metre or motion sensor. The outcome is achieved by taking measurements of the measuring signal quasicontinuously by assigning time intervals for taking measurements, during which measurements are taken continuously. Between the time intervals for taking measurements, there are periods when measurements are not taken. Measurements can be taken with, intervals between measurements taken with regular or random intervals. Intervals between measurements taken can have alternating duration and/or frequency and, in particular, increasing duration and/or frequency in proportion to reduction of the remaining life service of the battery. Measurements can be taken at low frequency (f1, f2, f3) during intervals for taking measurements, which, among other things, leads to longer life service of the battery without significant reduction of accuracy of measurements.
EFFECT: longer life service of battery without significant reduction of accuracy of measurements.
