FIELD: physics, nuclear physics.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to methods of controlling air-tightness of the fuel element can (fuel elements) of the nuclear reactor and is directed towards improving safety of operation of nuclear reactors. Method involves gamma-radiation detection of the radionuclides of krypton and xenon in a regime of continuous flow of samples gas-aerosol discharge of the reactor through the measurement chamber of the detector. The sample is preliminarily passed through an adsorber of caesium and iodine. In the adsorber the radionuclides of caesium and iodine are continuously recorded.

EFFECT: increasing the number of detected radionuclides selected from air-gas emissions of gas-aerosol mixtures, which makes it possible to increase safety of work at the reactor plant.
