FIELD: medicine; otorhinolaryngology.
SUBSTANCE: substance of the method consists in application of muscle pedicle flap to refill mastoid cavity after sanitising stage of middle ear surgery. Skin of temporal region is additionally dissected along the muscle fibres therethrough a pedicle flap is cut out from posterior one-third temporal muscle being sized as required by operative conditions and thereafter being unfolded to refill postoperative mastoid cavity. Then parotid and temporal wounds are closed completely.
EFFECT: complete closure of mastoid cavity, recurrence prevention and hearing improvement.
