FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is attributed to electric engineering and can be used to protect electric energy consumers against overvoltage caused by parametre degradation of neutral wire or its disconnection or to ensure electric, fire and explosion safety. The method consists in measuring difference between current in neutral wire at sending end and current in neutral wire after the first duplicative earth lead and analysis of this value to get information about neutral wire disconnection. If current difference value supplied to computing unit exceeds the value measured for normal mode with regard to load unbalance and seasonal fluctuation of duplicative earth leads resistance, decision block generates trip signal given to executive device. Additionally current difference measurement also allows to determine supposed disconnection point with regard to specified error.
EFFECT: improvement of continuity and parametre check quality for neutral wire, increase in reliability of its disconnection point detection.
