FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to quickly determine the location of a single-phase ground fault in electrical networks with isolated zero line. First, a damaged run (feeder) of an overhead power line is identified. Then the distance to the location of the single-phase earth fault along the run is determined based on the resonant frequencies of the line in normal line operation and when the single-phase fault occurs. In the normal mode of operation of the line, the resonant frequency is determined based on the data of the information system containing the primary parameters (longitudinal active resistance of wires, intrinsic and mutual inductances, mutual capacitance and ground capacitance of wires) of an overhead power transmission line for a specific area of its location, taking into account natural and climatic factors. In the event of a single-phase earth fault, the resonant frequency is determined by the resonance condition from the spectra of phase voltages and currents obtained on the basis of the data of registration of voltage and current parameters by digital devices for quality control and electricity metering as part of transformer substations.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of determining the location of damage to an overhead power line in case of a single-phase ground fault.
