START-UP MODULE OF HYDROGEN-AIR ELECTRIC CHEMICAL GENERATOR Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC H01M8/06

Abstract RU 2357333 C2

FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to power engineering, and is meant for being used with electric installations on fuel elements. Hydrogen generator operates on aluminium hydrolysis in alkali water and includes reaction vessel with crushed aluminium, alkali water supply main pipeline, hydrogen main pipeline, as well as heat exchanger-evaporator arranged in reaction vessel and having direct thermal contact with crushed aluminium mixed in reaction vessel. In addition, hydrogen generator includes mixer with crystalline alkali, which is equipped with level gage and connected to alkali water supply main pipeline; hydrogen bottle-receiver with pressure gage, which is filled with water, with gas cavity connected to hydrogen main pipeline, which is pneumatically connected to reaction vessel and hydraulically interconnected with mixer and inlet of heat exchanger-evaporator; gas turbine the inlet of which is connected through a two-way flow switch to outlet of heat exchanger-evaporator and water drain main pipeline; and air compressor installed on gas turbine axis and connected through air bottle-receiver to air main pipeline.

EFFECT: development of independent start-up device (module) that does not require any additional energy and additional start-up systems, and that provides to the full extent the speeded-up access to mode of hydrogen-air electric chemical generator, including start-up thereof at low ambient temperatures (ie at temperatures below minimum operating temperature of electric chemical generator) with synchronous hydrogen and air supply.
