SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring techniques and can be used for measuring temperature of liquid and gaseous media. The method of measuring temperature provides for supplying a superheating current pulse to a resistance temperature device, recording of the value of increase of resistance of the resistance temperature device as a result of its self-heating, and comparison of this value with a similar value, obtained during primary calibration of the device. From the comparison, values are obtained of change in parametres of the resistance temperature device and errors in measuring temperature are reduced. The device consists of a controlled current source, resistive temperature transducer, put on a measuring probe, a commutator, standard resistor, analogue-to-digital converter and a microcontroller.
EFFECT: increased accuracy and wider use of the method and devices for measuring temperature, with self-diagnostic functions.
