FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method determines the gas separation efficiency of cyclones from known dust separation efficiency of a reference cyclone geometrically identical to the given one reaching the preset operating conditions. It includes also the loss factors allowing for the cyclone diametre, dust particle median diametre and inlet flow dust content. Note that it also includes an additional loss factor allowing for dust density. Mind that all loss factors are calculated allowing for the aforesaid factor.
EFFECT: valid data on dust separation efficiency and possibility to be used in designing cyclones of whatever type.
