FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: displacement expansion joint consists of bellows, reducers, flanges, safety cylinder and limiter of angular and axial displacements. Reducers are provided with annular protrusions with spherical surfaces, and safety cylinder has an inner sphere on one of its ends and consists of two semi-cylinders connected to each other by fasteners; spherical surface of safety cylinder is mated with reducer's annular protrusion shpere having the same radius, and on the other end of safety cylinder, its inner cylindrical surface is mated with spherical surface of annular protrusion of the other reducer.
EFFECT: improving expansion joint operating reliability owing to introducing a movable spherical connection into the design between safety cylinder and reducer on one end of expansion joint, and a sliding connection between safety cylinder and reducer on the other end of expansion joint.
