FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine water volume (VCE) unaccountable by correct measurement instruments (MI) during contingency events. By recording methods of contingency events MI are divided into groups. MI with uptime metre are referred to one group; the other group includes MI forming archives of volumes, contingencies, type and duration of contingency events. For one group of MI VCE=qHOURLY AVERAGE·tCE,

where qHOURLY AVERAGE is hourly average consumption in previous billing month with consideration of facility operation mode, tCE is duration of a contingency event. For MI of the other group

VCE=qAVERAGE·tCE, where qAVERAGE is calculated depending on duration of a contingency event (tCE).

EFFECT: invention provides increase in accuracy measurement of water volume unaccounted by MI during contingency events at least during operation of one production facility without interruption of intended MI application.
