FIELD: seismic prospecting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of seismic prospecting, in particular to ways of stimulating seismic waves in aquatic areas. The method consists of creating a volumetric disturbance in the aquatic environment by means of a mechanical impact on the water using a pulsator. The innovation is seen in that the pulsator is located within an enclosure formed from a robust container possessing an open section, opening up below, which is in contact with the water. The pulisator is located within the robust container above the level of the water of the aquatic environment. The water from the aquatic environment rises above the level of the surrounding aquatic environment into the enclosure until it is completely full and creates the volumetric disturbance by using the pulsator.
EFFECT: increased effectiveness in the conversion of energy from the mechanical fluctuations from the pulsator into the vibrations of stimulated seismic waves in the water for transferal of wave energy to the bottom of the water mass and increased productivity of seismic prospecting work in shallow bodies of water.
